The resort
Costa Navarino is recognised as a prime, sustainable Mediterranean destination, set in breathtaking seaside landscapes shaped by 4,500 years of history. Its philosophy is driven by a genuine desire to promote Messinia, while protecting and preserving its natural beauty. It is part of several environmental programs in conjunction with the University of Stockholm, the Academy of Athens and environmental NGOs.
Navarino Dunes includes two luxury five-star hotels, The Romanos and The Westin, a luxury Spa, the Anazoe, a wide choice of quality dining venues, outdoor activities and cultural experiences. The Mouratoglou Tennis Centre is nearby, as well as four signature golf courses. Navarino Bay, further along the Coast, is the setting for a Mandarin Oriental, W Costa Navarino, and Navarino Agora, a curated marketplace.
Messinia enjoys an excellent climate with blue skies, sunny days and pleasant temperatures.

The Westin Resort features 445 rooms and suites, inspired in design by old Messinian Mansions, and has a slightly laid-back and informal atmosphere. Many rooms enjoy views of the Ionian Sea. Rooms and suites were newly renovated ready for the 2025 season and room categories include Deluxe Garden View, Superior Garden View and Premium Deluxe Sea view.
Hotel facilities include 20 restaurants and bars (some operate seasonally), the Agora, a village centre style space at the heart of the resort, gym and indoor pool, 4000 sqm Anazoe spa, outdoor cinema, outdoor pools, water sports hub and four 18-hole signature golf courses. Last but not least, of course, there is the Mouratoglou Tennis Centre.
Cultural experiences available, which may be seasonal, include the Messinian Authenticity Programme comprising activities such as cooking classes, olive oil harvesting and tasting, and wine tasting.
Classical temples, Byzantine churches, medieval castles and UNESCO World Heritage sites are all within easy reach. Some include Ancient Olympia, Ancient Messini, The Palace of Nestor and Temple of Apollo Epicurius. Worth some advance research if this is of interest.
The nearest airport, Kalamata International (KLX) is approximately 55 minutes by car and offers an increasing number of flights from different UK airports. Athens airport (ATH) is approximately 3 ½ hours by car on the new Athens to Kalamata motorway.
It’s one of the country’s most beautiful and unspoiled landscapes and, joined to the mainland by only a little strip of land, it’s got all the island vibes, with none of the crowds. Our pick of the region is Costa Navarino, which sits along the coast, next to quaint and quiet fishing villages”

“I think the experience for those who love tennis is unrivalled here at the Mouratoglou Tennis Centre, because we have trainers completely devoted to the sport, passionate, and with vast experience”
Patrick Mouratoglou, Costa Navarino Stories September 17, 2023
Tennis experience
In 2021 globally acclaimed coach Patrick Mouratoglou, son of a Greek businessman and French mother, opened his first European Tennis Centre at Costa Navarino.
After breakfast, a short shuttle ride from the Westin brings you to the tennis centre, a gem nestled between the Southern Ionian Sea and the rolling Messinia landscape of olive trees. For any tennis lover, each visit here is not just an experience—it’s a privilege.
The state-of-the-art facility boasts 12 meticulously maintained courts, including clay (the same surface as Roland Garros) and hard cushion courts (comparable to those at the Australian and US Open). Among them, one meets ATP standards, useful for the occasional professional visitor.
Our two hourly daily tennis sessions take place on the clay courts, culminating with a fun and competitive Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS)-style event to close the week.
Coaching is delivered under the Mouratoglou methodology, where the philosophy is simple: every moment on the court should be the best you’ve ever had. The passionate and dedicated coaches live up to this, making every session both enriching and exhilarating. There will be maximum four players per court, each with a coach.
This approach has shaped some of the world’s greatest players, including Serena Williams, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Coco Gauff, and Naomi Osaka.
After a proper session, the clubhouse and shop provide the perfect retreat. Relax in the shade, reflect on your game, and prepare for the challenges of tomorrow. The shop is well-stocked with everything from socks and caps to shoes, clothes, and even rackets—whether you’ve forgotten something essential or feel inspired for an impulsive upgrade. Water coolers are also available to keep you hydrated throughout the visit.
An unforgettable tennis experience.
