Tennis is a sport for a lifetime. It offers challenge at every stage, along with proven benefits for health and wellbeing. Across the UK and beyond, participation continues to grow — a reflection of its enduring appeal.
For many of us, tennis becomes more than a sport. It’s a way to connect, to explore, and to stay curious. The most meaningful memories are rarely confined to the court — they are shaped by shared experiences, conversation, and a sense of place.
I’m John Allen, founder of TennisOx. After a lifelong involvement in tennis and a career spent working internationally, I wanted to bring those two worlds together — combining professional standards with the perspective of someone who has always valued the game for what it makes possible.
My background is in international business and finance. I spent decades as a CFO across global companies, living and working in Jersey, London, Auckland, Tokyo and Dublin. In each place, tennis provided continuity — a way to meet people, build friendships and feel grounded.
When I stepped away from corporate life in 2020, I began to shape TennisOx with care and patience. The intention was simple: small, thoughtfully hosted tennis experiences, prepared properly and delivered with transparency.
We have built trusted relationships with partners such as Costa Navarino in Greece and the Mouratoglou Centre, ensuring that quality and detail are embedded from the outset.
TennisOx is fully compliant with UK travel regulations and bonded with ABTOT, so bookings are secure and financially protected.
Above all, TennisOx reflects a belief that tennis travel can be both professionally organised and personally hosted — structured where helpful, relaxed where it should be.
The Vision
TennisOx is not about volume. It is about atmosphere.
Each retreat brings together people who share an enthusiasm for tennis and travel, with space for individual rhythm. Some arrive with a friend. Others travel independently. What matters is that everyone feels settled and at ease.
The intention is not to create an event, but an experience — time well spent, on court and beyond it.
